Birthday Boots: Too Flash for Walking Football?

Birthday Boots: Too Flash for Walking Football?

This year, I treated myself for my birthday. Not a pint, not a curry, not even a weekend away – but a pair of shiny blue Adidas Predator 3G boots.

Now, anyone who knows me knows I’m usually more of a “black boots, no fuss” kind of bloke. But something about these Predators caught my eye. Bright, bold, and full of that football swagger. I thought, “Why not? You only turn this age once!”

I’ve worn them to running football, and I’ve got to say – they feel incredible. Comfortable, supportive, and if I’m honest, I swear they’ve added a little extra spring to my game. Maybe it’s in my head, but I’ll take it!

Here’s the thing though… I haven’t worn them to walking football yet. And I’ll tell you why. Part of me worries they might look a bit too flash. A bit “full kit”, if you know what I mean. Walking football is all about fun, inclusion, and not taking yourself too seriously – would turning up in a pair of bright blue Predators be… too much?

So here’s my question to you lot:
👉 Are flashy boots fair game in walking football, or should I stick to the classics?

Vote and/or drop me a comment – I’d love to hear what you think. And who knows… next session, you might just see a pair of blue Predators strutting their stuff on the Lewes pitch.

Because at the end of the day, football is football – and if you’re old enough, you’re good enough (boots and all).
